Former Coventry City foward Neol Whelan is to take part in a local fishing match this weekend.
Whelan who is now at Derby County's Academy is take part in a match between The Nugget pub in Coundon and employees from Jaguar Land Rover, at Stockton Reservoir, with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.
Whelan told the CT:"Cancer Research is a hugely important charity for me and I still have a lot of friends in Coventry, so I am delighted to help out.
"I'm hoping the boys will give me a crash course in fishing but even if I don't catch anything, it's still a great cause."
