Noel Whelan And Alan Dugdale At City V Leeds Game

Noel Whelan and Alan Dugdale will be the guests for Coventry City's Championship match against Leeds United on Saturday.

Whelan who joined City from Leeds United in December 1995 and in a colourful time at Highfield Road, scored 39 goals on over 150 League and Cup appearances for City before being transfered to Middlesbrough (for whom he scored a cracking own goal for City) in August 2000.



After leaving Teeside, he went to Millwall, Derby and Boston as well as spells in Scotland at Aberdeen, Livingston and Dunfermline. He also appeared on Celebrity MasterChef and is now embarking on a coaching career.

Whelan will be in the corporate areas of the ground before the game and will be joined in the G-Casino after the match by Alan Dugdale, who is the guest of the Coventry City Former Players Association.

The former defender has lived in America for a number of years and started his Sky Blue career with City's youth team in 1968. He made his debut in 1972 and made over 170 appearances before being transfered to Charlton Athletic in 1977. He also played at Barnsley and for Tulsa Roughnecks in America.
