No Wilson For Bournemouth For Six Months

Former Coventry City striker Callum Wilson is expected to be out for up to six months.

An horrific day on Saturday for the Cherries saw the sad death of a AFC Bournemouth supporter Mick Cunningham who, edited a fanzine, edited the club programme, was a press officer, and a match photographer, a 2-1 defeat at Stoke City and the injury to Wilson which has been diagnosed as a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in the striker's right knee.

AFC Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe said to his club's website: ”It’s very disappointing for Callum, after what has been an exceptional start to the season, but I am sure he will come back fitter and stronger.

“Callum is the type of character who won’t be fazed by such a setback, and I am sure he will turn this experience into a positive in the long run.

“As I have said many times before though, this kind of setback offers others the opportunity to step up to the plate, show everybody what they can do and make a real impact at this level.”
