Rugby Town missed out on promotion to the Southern League Premier Division with a 3-1 home defeat to Biggleswade Town in the Southern League Central Division Play-Off Final.
A bumper Butlin Road crowd of 1126 saw David Kolodynski fired VS ahead in the 58th minute.
Allinson levelled for the Waders in the 64th minute but two goals from Barnes in the 86th and 88th minutes, booked Biggleswade's promotion.
