No Olympic Friendlies At The Ricoh

Coventry City's Ricoh Arena (or City Of Coventry Stadium as it will be known for the two weeks of the Olympics) home will not be staging any friendlies for teams competing in the London 2012 Olympics.

Olympic rules state friendlies cannot be played at London 2012 venues mean that the likes of the City Of Coventry Stadium plus Wembley, Old Trafford, St James' Park, Hampden Park and the Millennium Stadium. 

The FA are considering having both the mens team managed by former City defender Stuart Pearce and Hope Powell's women's team playing a double headed friendly in July at a ground such as Villa Park and one abroad.

For this non-FIFA ranked tournament, the mens 18 man squad will consist of fifteen players born after January 1st 1989 and three over age players whilst there are no age restrictions in the womens team.
