Former Coventry City winger Chris Birchall has been told that he will not be getting a new contract at LA Galaxy.

Birchall, who helped the Sky Blues to a Birmingham Senior Cup Final win in 2007, had been at the MLS for the last three years, helping them to win the MLS Cup in November.

Since then, Birchall has been back in England and now been told that he won't be offered a deal to team up with the likes of David Beckham, Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane when the players return for MLS duty in March.

The Trinidad & Tobago international has tweeted: "Disappointed to say that I will not be returning to LA Galaxy,I would like to thank everyone for a Superb 3years,fans exceptional!!Thankyou!"
