No Lorentzson For A Couple Of Weeks

Coventry City will not have new signing Martin Lorentzson available for a couple of weeks.

The Swede stressed some fibres in his thigh and is expected to not be available until the New Year.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Tony Mowbray said:  “Martin stressed a few fibres in his thigh in his first training session which I think was a bit of over exuberrance.

“We are just being guarded with him. It’s not ideal that the first time he gets his boots on he gets injured.

“It was probably a lack of fitness and then going into the intensity of a training session, in the first 30 seconds he broke down a little bit.

“It’s frustrating for him and frustrating for us because we needed him to train for two or three weeks to get him up to speed and give himself a chance to push for the team.

“So he won’t be involved for a couple of weeks, which is OK because I’d have to say the main crux of bringing him in was for when Ben Turner potentially goes back and we move Sam Ricketts across to centre-half and he gives me more options at right-back. But it’s not critical because that’s a few weeks away.”
