Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has refuted the rumours that former England striker Alan Smith will be signed on loan from Newcastle United.
There had been strong rumours surrounding the imminent arrival of Smith at The Ricoh especially as Thorn is known to want to strengthen his squad with a seasoned experienced player.
Yesterday though Thorn insisted that neither he, nor the club had any interest in bringing Smith to the club, although Newcastle still seems most likely to be the club that will supply a loan player.
