No Knee Jerk Reaction - Waggott

Coventry City's Development Officer Steve Waggott has said that there will be no knee jerk reaction to Mark Robins walking out on his third club to join Huddersfield Town.

Speaking to Lee Corden for the club website, Mr Waggott said; “There won’t be a knee-jerk reaction but we have to move relatively quickly, although we must follow a process to get the right person in to pick up the managerial baton and drive us on.

“Of course, we didn’t want to be in this position again but the fact that we went through this process five months ago means much of the groundwork has already been done.

“There are new candidates out there now because of the nature of football and because we are in a much stronger position than we were in August, it makes the job of Coventry City manager an even more attractive proposition.

“Again, we’ve had approaches from some high-calibre candidates and we have to start the process now.”
