No Ireland Trip For City

Coventry City will not be going to Ireland for any pre-season matches.

Speaking to Andy Turner of the Coventry Telegraph, Tony Mowbray said; “We’re not going to Dublin now.

“The games were just a bit too tight but that’s OK, I am not precious about it.

"We will continue to work here at Ryton where it will give us more time on our training ground. And now we’re looking to get some games in at times we’d have played while on tour.”

“We haven’t added enough players yet to warrant a tour as a team building exercise as well as a fitness exercise playing some games.

"It would be nice to have six new players to integrate into the team on an away trip where you are living together 24 hours a day but that’s not been the case.

“But we’ll hopefully use the money that would have been spent in other areas that will benefit the club.”
