Media reports have suggested that City are enquired about Newcastle United assistant manager Nigel Pearson as a candidate for the vacant City manager's job.

Newcastle refused City permission to speak to the former West Brom caretaker who is expected to help the England U21 national side if former Stuart Pearce is appointed by the FA.
Staying in the North East and City have been linked with a move for Sunderland's Clive Clarke. Stoke City and Plymouth are also reported to be interested in the defender who finished a three month loan at the start of this month.
