Former Coventry City defender Gary Borrowdale will not be getting a contract at Gillingham FC.
Borrowdale, signed by Iain Dowie for City, had been on trial with the Gills but has not done enough to earn a contract.
"He's done very well, lost weight every week and looked fitter every week," said Gillingham manager Peter Taylor to his club's official website.
"I just don't think he's ready for League One football, especially considering if we have to play Saturday and Tuesday - as a result I have decided to let him go."
