Coventry City keeper Keiran Westwood has not been called up to the Republic Of Ireland squad for their World Cup qualifier against Cyprus on Wednesday October 15th.

Some media outlets have been reporting that the City keeper is in Giovanni Trapattoni's squad. However, the Italian has actually called up Scunthorpe United's Joe Murphy from the developmental squad for the game at Croke Park, rather than Westwood, who is seen by many City supporters and Chris Coleman as the best keeper in the Championship.

Westwood, could be in goal for the Developmental team who will play Nottingham Forest at Dalymount Park this Thursday night.

Former City Youth team keeper Dean Kiely and super striker Robbie Keane are in the full squad.
