Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has said that whilst Martin Cranie may not have played many game of late, his quality is not in doubt.

Speaking to the CT about the £500k deal to bring the defender to Coventry from Portsmouth, Coleman said: "I think everything should go through ok. "He's a player I've been keen on for some time and just the sort of player we need.

"He'll need a few Championship games undr his belt before we see the best of him because he's missed a lot of football, but there is no doubt about his quality."

The deal should be completed today and Cranie is expected to be added to the squad to travel to Barnsley.
