Former Coventry City youngster Luke Bottomer has been told that he won't be getting a contract at Cheltenham Town FC.

Bottomer, who was the Covsupport News Service Coventry City U18's Player Of The Year last season, was not given a new contract by Aidy Boothroyd back in February and left the club at the end of the season, after completing his education.

The midfielder has since been on trial at a number of clubs and had been trying to win a contract with Cheltenham Town.

Bottomer played in a couple of friendlies but has been allowed to leave along with some other trialists.

Cheltenham boss Mark Yeats told his club's website: "We've got three of the trialists left and the others have now gone because we don't want to be wasting their time. Bagasan Graham, Harry Hooman and Mike Green have stayed on but the others are now gone. I'd like to thank them for their efforts but we can't waste people's time."
