Gary McSheffrey will not be suspended for three matches after the red card he received against Boavista was revoked by a disciplinary committee.
The striker was dismissed by referee Pete Walton for alleged violent conduct during the first half of the pre-season game, but video evidence clearly showed that no offence was committed.
No Ban For Sheffers
McSheffrey will now be available for the trips to Cardiff plus the games versus Leicester and Hereford United.
Said Sky Blues manager Micky Adams: “I'm delighted that the red card has been rescinded because we never felt that the sending-off was justified. “Gary is an integral part of our squad and I'm very pleased that he'll be available for those three important games.”
