Coventry City will not be able to field their two goal hero Adam Armstrong at Rochdale in the League Cup on Tuesday night.
Newcastle United, who have a 24 hour recall on the striker who scored twice against Wigan Athletic for City, have refused Armstrong permission to play in the competition for City.
