No Appeal Over King Dismissal

Coventry City will not be appealing over Marlon King's dismissal in the 59th minute of City's 1-1 home draw with Ipswich Town this afternoon.

Referee Russell Booth, who was slated by the City support for his inconsistency and poor decisions which cost City two points, sent King off for a two footed tackle.

However, City boss Aidy Boothroyd has said the club will not be appealing and told the Press Association: "It was a typical striker's tackle. It was over exuberance. You can see how hard he is working for the club and for the team and there was nothing malicious.

"If you take two feet off the ground, the letter of the law says it is a sending off even though there was no intent. Sometimes they go for you and sometimes they go against you but we won't be appealing, there is no point."
