No Ambition To Play League One Football - Clouting

Coventry City's CEO Paul Clouting has said that the board and the club's owners SISU don't want League One football.

With concerns that City are falling behind in what is already a tough division with Birmingham, Blackpool and West Ham getting £16m parachute payments before the season starts and other clubs improving their squads no end, Clouting has said the club does not want to be relegated.

Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner, Clouting, who has said that he wants the club to get in a position whereby they live within in their means, said: "We don't have an ambition to play League One football, we have an ambition to one, stabilise the football club and two be successful."
