Nicholls- A Great Performance

Coventry City Ladies Craig Nicholls has described his side's 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest last night as a great performance.

Speaking to Matty Roper, Nicholls said: "Great performance. We dictated the play from start to finish and never stopped playing our way, continuing to be patient and wait for chances. After a long day at work and players struggling to get to game I cannot fault any of them. Good three points, on to Sunday away at Blackburn now!"

Ashleigh Neville, scorer of City's second, said: "The game was a battle and Forest made it hard for us as they sat so deep. We didn't let this phase us though, we stuck to our principles and we took our chances when it mattered. It's great to be keeping a clean sheet and to get another two goals on the board is fantastic."

Striker Carly Davies also looked back on the tie: "Notts came with a game plan and that was evident to see as they put 11 players behind the ball and made it difficult for us to find a way through. We knew we would have to to be patient and not force things. Credit to them, they kept us at bay for the most part of the game but once they tired we started finding gaps and areas of space to play in and exploit. It's important at this stage in the season that we stay patient, focused and organised as a team. We travel to Blackburn Sunday which we know will be a tough fixture but the morale in the camp is high and we are positive we can get the right result."
