Reports suggest Peter Reid may try and pull off an attempt to sign out-of-favour Dwight Yorke.

Yorke has been given a free transfer by Blackburn Rovers Football Club after a major fall-out with manager Graeme Souness.

Souness accused Yorke of concentrating too much on the social side of football and not making the most of his talent.

Coventry are still searching for an experienced striker after missing out on both Dion Dublin and Teddy Sheringham this summer. Yorke’s wages would be a stumbling block but a short-term deal to put him back in the shop window may suit both parties.
