New Role For Gavin Ward

Former Coventry City keeper Gavin Ward has joined Shrewsbury Town as a goalkeeping coach.

Ward made 12 appearances for City in 2003/2004 after joining on a short term deal.

He had been assistant manager at Gainsborough Trinity and retired from playing at the end of the 2010-2011 season after making 400 appearances in a career than spanned over twenty years.

Shrewsbury Boss Graham Turner told Shrewsbury's official club website: "Gavin has been working with our youth set-up and is an experienced goalkeeping coach."There will be an offer for him to come and work with us on a part-time basis."
