New Deal For Paul Cook

Former Coventry City midfielder Paul Cook has signed a new contract with Wigan Athletic.

Cook left Portsmouth, whom he guided to promotion to take Wigan back into the Championship and has been rewarded with a four year deal.

Wigan manager Paul Cook said: "It was always going to be a big challenge to win promotion immediately but a lot of hard work and endeavour has gone in from many people.

"I sit here very proud of the success we have enjoyed this season but in equal measure aware of the challenges we face moving forwards into the Championship - an exciting challenge."

Northampton Town have released former City player Leon Lobjoit.

The midfielder joined from Buckingham Town but has not been offered a new deal for next season,

The Cobblers who will be playing League Two football next season, have former City loanee Leon Barnett out of contract but are in talks with him about a new deal, as he has the option of a second year.

Former City youngster Arron Phillips is out of contract but will be invited to continue his rehabilitation with the club following injury.
