New Coventry Anthem

Last updated : 21 May 2012 By Covsupport News Service

A new Sky Blues’ anthem has written by Mark Poole, a Coventry born and bred musician and songwriter.

Mark appeared on BBC CWR last Wednesday (16th May 2012) talking about the song that he’d written to mark the 25th anniversary of City winning the cup (not to mention the 50th anniversary of the City’s new cathedral). The song was also apparently played later between 8 pm and 9pm on Martin Winch’s show.

The song, called ‘Sky Blue’ is described as a light hearted but optimistic celebration of Coventry the city with references to the Club’s ’87 dream and also to aspects of Coventry culture that are now gone but that Coventry people will remember.

The song can be heard at both www.7storeysoul.co.uk/skyblue and on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsWfQjmjbLY.

There will be an updated version of the song on youtube with a video in the next few days and CDs will be available in Herbert Art Gallery and Transport Museum in the next week or so.

The song can also be found by typing in ‘Sky Blue by Cov Kid’ on google search or looking for ‘Cov Kid’ Facebook page.
