New City Fans Group Set To Launch?

Last updated : 21 October 2017 By CNS Sport

According to a Facebook from Robbie Manton, a new Coventry City fans group is set to launch.

The following has appeared on Facebook

"On Monday the 23/10/17 a new fans group will be born with the sole purpose of keeping our beloved team alive and kicking.

The aim of the group is to replace the now defunct trust as representatives of the fans to work with the club as the FA have stated is a must for all league clubs.

...

As a fan base we have tried protests, marches and boycotts. Unfortunately with no positive results. Our protest groups have made it untenable to be able to work with the club to gain what we all want, communication on what the clubs plans are for the future, and how we as fans can assure our club stay alive and in our city.

Our friends that have marched and protested, we salute you, you took the fight to sisu a fought a good fight. But these tactics are not working, Charlton athletic fans will say the same. So it is now time for a change of tact.

What would you dislike the most from this small sentence..... no coventry city football club or sisu ?

Many of us believe that no CCFC in existence is worse than sisu.

So we as a group we will aim to make sure that this does not happen.

In life we all know that from time to time you may have to sleep with the devil to get what you want.

Now we don't want to sleep with the devil but we do want to be at his table when he makes is plans, because we will have a voice and may be able to help influence decisions concerning how our club is run and represented by sisu.

To do the above we have to change how we are going to go forward.

For Example:- years back Aston villa ( sorry for swearing ) had big issues with Doug ellis. They did everthing they could to get rid but failed. What did the fans do, they stuck by the players, put a good committee together and got a seat at Doug's table and things started to change. Few yrs down the line he sold up and left. The fans got what they wanted in the end.

But if we carry on with our current approach we will fail and there will be no coventry city football club.

The definition of insanity:- to do the same thing repeatedly while expecting a different outcome.

We do not want to create a divide amomgst fans so we encourage all supporters to stand together strong and united. We will actively look to work with other fans groups and supporters clubs currently fighting strong for ccfc. To make sure all voices are heard and represented at the devils table. We do not intend to push groups away as supporters have the right to support a team however they want. But we aim to bring everyone's voice to the table.

More details and info will be made available on monday 23/10/17

Thank you"
