Name Change For Stand

The Main Stand at the Arena will be known as the Telent Stand from this season. Formerly the Marconi Stand, the demise of Marconi who have been a major employer in Coventry over the years especially in their GEC days and other business changes has seen a company name change.

ACL are looking for a new stand sponsor for the East Stand. NTL were the sponsors but the company which is closing its offices in Coventry City centre has undergone change including a merger with Virgin and another deal with Telewest. The NTL livery on the Stand will remain until a new sponsor has been found.

Until such time,Covsupport is backing calls for the stand to be named after a former City player or Manager. Following the debarkle after the death of Noel Cantwell and the lack of a minute's silence or applause, Covsupport suggests that the stand be named in honour of the former Coventry City manager who took the team for the Fairs Cup games v Trakia Plovdiv and Bayern Munich in 1970.
