Coventry City goalkeeping coach Steve Ogrizovic, has said that he feels Joe Murphy will be a good signing for the club.

Ogrizovic has watched Murphy for over three and a half years in matches for  Scunthorpe United and the keeper was always a possibility if the deal to bring Keiren Westwood in from Carlisle fell through.

Speaking to the CT, Ogrizovic said: “Joe is obviously a very experienced goalkeeper who has got a couple of promotions under his belt.

"He has done very, very well at probably not such a fashionable club at Scunthorpe over the last few years where he has been terrific.

“We have been over and monitored him for a number of years to be fair and he has been the mainstay of their team for a long time so I am sure he will be a good acquisition for us.

“He has got a tremendous wealth of experience.

"He started out with Tranmere and has had a few big clubs in West Brom and Sunderland and we are hopeful that he will come in and do really well.”
