Mowbray Wishes Reda Johnson Well

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that he wishes Reda Johnson all the best after the central defender signed for National League side Eastleigh.

Speaking about Johnson, whom Mowbray did not offer a new deal to, the City boss told the Coventry Telegraph: “I don’t know what the Eastleigh project is, but they’ve signed a few players and it seems they’ll try and make this season the season where they get out of that league.

“Clubs in our division have asked about Reda, though. It’s difficult to comment on the move - but maybe they offered him a deal that was tough to turn down.

“The main thing for Reda Johnson is to play football and put a 40-odd game season on his CV. I wish him well. He’s a good guy. I hope he gets them promoted. Maybe our career paths will cross again. Should we have offered him a deal? Time will tell.”
