Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said he is disappointed to have missed out on signing the German striker Nick Proschwitz, who has signed for German club Paderborn.

Whilst many City supporters were highly delighted that Proschwitz, a player seen as part of the problem not the solution was not signing, Mowbray said: “I’m a little disappointed we didn’t get Nick because what I saw on the training ground suggests he’s a really talented finisher.

“We just needed to put a team on the pitch to create chances for him but he’s obviously decided to go back to Germany and the club where he started and scored all his goals.

“I wished him well and we’ll keep in touch but we move on with our search for some more firepower.”
