Mowbray To Make Ramage Decision

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that he will make a decision whether to give 32 year old Peter Ramage a contract or not.

The defender has been on trial at City for the last couple of days and speaking about him, the City boss said to the Coventry Telegraph:  “He’s got a good voice after watching him in training and a similar type of player to Sam Ricketts really rather than a 6ft 4 monster who can head every ball for you.

“He’s more of an organiser and voice like Sam and played a lot of football at levels higher than this in this country.

“He has played most of his career in the top flight, 70-odd games for Newcastle United, QPR, Crystal Palace, which as his last club, and Barnsley.

“He’s been with us on trial on the training ground for the last couple of days and we’ll make a decision with him over the next few days with his advisors.

“He’s just come back from India playing for the Kerala Blasters in the IPL. We’ll see whether it suits us and suits him over the next week and make a decision.

“But we have got other names, potential loans from the Premier League, but they’re young players so we’ll see. We are looking all the time.”
