Mowbray- Three Months Out For Maddison

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that he is expecting James Maddison to be out for three months.

Mowbray told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “With an injury like that there’s always the question of whether they need to operate to realign the fracture and the positive is that they don’t.

“They’ll re-scan it in a month to make sure it’s all aligned as they hope, that it’s healing and they’re happy with it.

“Young players can sometimes heal more quickly that you expect and when he’s back on his feet and feeling OK we’ll see if we can accelerate it. But obviously you’re guided by the specialists – at this moment we’re gauging it on three months and I don’t think that will move more than a week or two either side.

“The bottom line is that just because one part of your body is injured the rest isn’t,” he said.

“The plan with mid to long-term injuries is to come back fitter than you were when you got injured and we hope Jordan and James will do that.

“They’ll do that by coming to work every day, keeping themselves as aerobically fit as possible."
