Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has praised his right hand man Mark Venus fro his work in bringing players in with the club's limited income.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Mowbray said: “Mark has been an amazing help.

“I’m trying to coach the football team and Mark’s doing a fantastic job working very closely with the board and chief executive, Steve Waggott, to make sure that we manage the budget properly and don’t have to go back cap in hand to the owners and ask for more.

“We’re trying to work with what we have got and that’s how we are doing it at the moment.

“Rightly or wrongly I think that’s the right way to do it. Some managers would demand more and more money but that’s never been the way I have worked.

"I have always respected the boards and the fact that it’s their money. It’s generally the owners and the supporters' club and I try to work alongside everyone and hopefully take the club in the right direction if I can.”
