Mowbray Not Bringing In New Assistant Manager

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that he will not be appointing an Assistant Manager following the departure of Neil MacFarlane.

“We’ve got Mark Venus as technical director and Jamie Clapham as coach and that’s how things will stay, " Mowbray said to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner.

“While you’d like to keep everybody, sometimes there’s only so many people you can keep on board. Football’s football – I’ve been there, Jamie’s been there – but it was all amicably done with Neil.

“Neil’s a good man – I enjoyed working with him at the end of last season and the start of this one and I’d like to think he enjoyed his time working with me.

“I hope he will have benefitted from hearing a different voice, seeing a different style of management and he can hopefully take some of that as he moves on in his own career, wherever that might be.”
