Tony Mowbray has said that he is interested in the potential that Coventry City has to offer.

Speaking to Tom Bloomfield at the press conference to unveil the 51 year old as the new manager on a contract until the end of the season, Mowbray said: "I'm aware of the problems this football club has faced but it does not waver me. I just see the potential here.

"I'm interested in the football and the footballers that play at this club.

"There is a plan to take this club to where it belongs, at the very minimum knocking on the door of the Premier League and there's an opportunity to build the team into an entertaining side that scores goals and plays good football.

"The reason I'm here is that I am looking at the future. But the here and now is that we have to survive. Coventry do not have a divine right to stay in this league.

"I'm happy to work with Neil and Dave right now, the next game is tonight and it's about getting three points, then two wins and suddenly it's four in a row.

"I'd love to see a scouting system in place, where we can get people going to games to find new exciting players.

I"'d like to think that my passion is real and you can see that, it's not manufactured."
