Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that he will not be a burden on the Sky Blues and won't hang around for too long if his side are not winning matches.

The City boss speaking after the 2-2 draw against AFC Wimbledon has been restricted by the owners in the players he can bring in to strengthen the squad and told the Coventry Telegraph: .“I am a very passionate and emotional person,” he said; “I have got a huge pride about the way I manage.“Let’s see what the next few hours and days brings.

“I won’t be a burden for this club. I won’t hang around for too long if we don’t win football matches. I won’t expect to be paid if I decide to leave. They can reinvest the money I currently earn as a football manager.

“I know this club needs every penny. I am an honourable guy and I will make some decisions, talk to the people above me. I have worked with Mark Venus for over 20 years so me and him will sit down and see what’s right.

“I am not a quitter by nature. I just want to make sure this club has the best chance. I only came here to get this club out of this league and yet ten games we are bottom of the league and a long way from promotion. And yet I do see some shoots of hope.

“At this club it is a long term thing and they have to invest in footballers at some stage that they believe in and then try to keep them. I think the base is OK with the likes of Ben Stevenson, Jodi Jones and Cian Harries - all young boys.

“There are some good assets if they stick together and I have told them that.”
