Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that he is hoping that the ten day lay-off will be to City's advantage.

The Sky Blues next game is at home to Walsall on Tuesday night and speaking about the lay-off due to Walsall's FA Cup involvement, Mowbray told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “It can work both ways, of course, but we’ve ended up with a ten-day period with no football and it’s up to us to make the most of this opportunity.

“We can use that time to give the players time to recharge their batteries and clear up little niggles and we can hopefully get some business done .

“We’ll need to be at our best next Tuesday because we’re facing a tough game against a really good side who have shown better consistency than us in winning football matches.

“Although we haven’t been losing too often we’ve drawn a few too many recently and we need to be at it that night otherwise we’ll get punished.

“On the other hand, to beat them would obviously be a huge fillip for us and we’ve got a proud home record we want to preserve so I’ve no doubt the players will know exactly what they need to do.”
