Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray is hoping that City supporters back the team rather than take out their frustrations on the players.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph, Mowbray said at this lunch time's press conference: "We hope the supporters buy Into at the moment and not take it out on the team. It takes time to gel but when they do, you’ll be proud to be a Coventry city fan as we will be playing some of the best football in the division.

"They are professional footballers so they can’t curl up in a ball, but get up and go again. Norwich had a number of players that played in the premier league last season and it was a challenge for our players.

"We have to except that, and put the game behind us and move on to the next one. Northampton Town

"We have to try and build a good home record like last season. We have had two draws so far which is good.

"Marvin Sordell and Jodi Jones both trained with us today, and just having them there lifts the mood.

"Ultimately however well the team plays, if you don’t stick the ball in the net it can be an imbalance.

"We have to remain positive and feel the team are doing ok, even though the points don’t show that.

“I hope the supporters can be supportive of the young boys on the pitch because they are the ones pulling on the sky blue shirt at the moment.

“Sometimes when it’s quiet in the stadium, players have to find the inspiration themselves.

"That’s why I stand on the sideline to drive the players on, but 10,000 supporters can do that."
