Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that he hopes to have a competitive squad assembled by the end of August.
Mowbray told the CT:".....Hopefully by the end of August when the window shuts then we’ll have a squad ready and capable because the loan market dictates that we can’t get any emergency loans during the season.
"We have to have a squad assembled by the end of August to go and compete until January when the window opens again. But we’ll get there.”
The current senior squad is looking a bit thin as the players are set to return to pre season training tomorrow (Thursday). Senior squad players under contract at the moment include goalkeepers Reice Charles-Cook and Lee Burge, defenders Jordan Willis, Chris Stokes and Ryan Haynes, midfielders Andy Rose, Vladimir Gadzhev and Romain Vincelot and strikers Jodi Jones and Ruben Lameiras.
Under-21 players will add to the senior squad and will probably include George Thomas, Dion and Devon Kelly-Evans, Ivor Lawton, Bilal Sayoud, Cian Harries, Ben Stevenson, Jack Finch, Kyle Spence and Corey Addai.
John Fleck looks set to leave the club if he can sign for a Championship club while uncertainty surrounds the futures of Sam Ricketts and Marcus Tudgay.
