Mowbray: Henderson Will Help Us Win Matches

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that Darius Henderson will help City win matches.

Speaking about the 34 year old striker who was a free a agent and has joined for the rest of the season, the City boss told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “It’s Darius Henderson – he’s 34-year-old, been around a long time, had a few clubs but he knows how to use his body. He’s a big centre-forward whose main attribute is his physical presence. Sometimes you can put the ball away in one pass rather than ten passes to try to get behind them – a real physical presence in the box might unsettle some teams.

“That doesn’t mean to say we are going to go back to front all the time.

“You try to win the way you want to play but if that’s not working and you are banging your head against a brick wall and not getting through sometimes you have to have Plan B and hopefully between now and the end of the season he’ll be able to help us win a few football matches.”
