Mowbray: City Youngsters Can Push For First Team Place

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that he is hoping that his younger players can get a sense that they can push for a place in the first team by being involved in the squad which is out in Austria.

The City boss told Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “Hard work and a lot of tactical stuff and hopefully some nice surfaces and nice weather and hope the group can bond together.

“In an ideal world we’d have had one or two more senior faces to help gel the group but we’re taking a pretty young squad, but that’s OK because it’s important the young players feel they can touch the first team and that the step up is there for them if they want it and to push themselves hard.

“I have always said there are some good young players here and some progressing really fast and if the opportunity comes they have to grab it.”
