Mowbray - We Are All Disappointed About Maddison Leaving

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that there is disappointment about James Maddison signng for Norwich City.

Whilst it gives Maddison a chance to play first team football at either Premier League or Championship level with the Canaries, many City supporters were less than happy with the deal which contained plenty of add-ons and feel that Norwich have got the starlet on the cheap.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph, Tony Mowbray said:"I think we’re all disappointed but this is football and a decision has been made and a deal done.

"The positives are that he’s staying here for the rest of the season and now we can progress the team in the summer.

"You have to continue to build and get stronger.

"We want to build a team that’s strong and competitive and get to a time when James Maddison won’t be mentioned.

"If James wasn’t the talent he is then the scouting box wouldn’t have been full every week.

"If the club had been in a bigger league and in a stronger position it might have been different.

"I do feel in football the Premier League clubs have such huge resources they can take players and put them in their squads and see how they develop.”
