Mowbray - Right To Make Lawton An Offer

Last updated : 20 May 2015 By Covsupport News Service

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that the club are right to make an offer for Ivor Lawton.

The Cov Kid has been a driving force for City U21's, captaining the side and playing with a steely determination, proving that he can lead, motivate and make a tough tackle when required to do so.

Speaking about him to Matt Joyce, Mowbray said: I think he earned the right for us to make him an offer.

"He has a great personality and he'll never lose his drive or conviction. The lads might be playing on blustery day, might be 2-0 down and the one lad who's pumping his fists, sleeves rolled up, balling at everyone is Ivor Lawton.

"Ivor has the potential in his make up to become almost an iconic player if you like, for the fans to grasp hold of this warrior playing in Sky Blue on the pitch. Of course he has to get an opportunity first."
