Mowbray - Hopefully, The New Lads Will Add Consistency

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that he hopes that Baily Cargill and Jack Stephens will add some consistency to City's defence.

Speaking about the defence to the Coventry Telegraph at this lunch-time's press conference, Mowbray said: "We have brought some new players in, particularly defenders and that’s one area of the pitch where we haven’t had consistency this season.

“Reda got injured, Jordan Willis as well and Ben Turner ultimately disappeared as well and I do feel this team, with it’s youthfulness, needs that platform of being 0-0 or in front rather than chasing a game because you have lost an early goal from a set piece.

“So there’s been a bit of inconsistency in that area but hopefully the new lads will fit in well.”
