Mowbray - Haynes Not Quite Ready

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that Ryan Haynes is not quite ready for City's first team.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner about Haynes, Mowbray said: "Watching him in the reserves this week he has fabulous talent.

“His left foot is a wand to get crosses into the box. He’s beaten his full-back and whipped it round him, so that’s a great asset and Ryan has to force his way back into the reckoning.

“He’s just a young boy who is not quite ready at this level with the physicality of the game and yet you shouldn’t want to hold his talent back.

“It’s just a shame we’re in the position we are in because every point is crucial and if you’ve got a young boy playing in a certain position, teams in this league will target them and physically try to damage them.

“There is another young player who I think is really, really talented who just lacks a bit of physicality that is probably best suited to playing up the leagues rather than down, if that makes sense, because their talent is so evident and just fantastic.

“And yet you would worry about throwing him in now because the predicament of the team can’t suffer because you’re trying to blood a young player.”
