Mowbray - Charles Cook Loan Unlikely

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that he is unlikely to loan out keeper Reice Charles-Cook.

Nuneaton Town were interested in taking the keeper on loan but Mowbray is quoted by Nuneaton News as saying: "Reice asked me at the end of last season if he could go out on loan.

"But that will all – like a pack of cards really – depend if I think he should play first-team football as a young goalie himself.

"He's a very talented young goalie but he needs to play in a team with some pressure.

"There's a potential for that (a loan move to Nuneaton) but that might coincide with us wanting to loan a reserve ourselves, but do you loan a number two goalkeeper?

"Not really. He'll be a free transfer goalkeeper somewhere who we can bring in on a low salary.

"I signed Dimitrios Konstantopoulos who played at this football club at Middlesbrough, who had just left AEK Athens.

"He was just sitting in Hartlepool with his missus doing nothing and he ended up playing 40 games for Middlesboro who nearly made it to the Premier League, so that type of goalie can be a real positive."
