Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that Adam Armstrong is a fantastic option for the club.

The eighteen year old has joined on a youth loan from Newcastle United for six months and speaking about him to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Mowbray said: "Adam is a striker we’ve been tracking throughout the summer.

”He’s a prospect we’re really excited by – he has a fantastic eye for goal and his movement in the area makes life difficult for defenders.

“We’ve been looking to add quality to our forward line and despite his young age, I believe Adam will give us a fantastic option. It is an important stage of his development and he needs first-team games to progress as a player so this is a big chance for him in his career.

“He’s only 18 years old he’s got the body of a man – he’s got mobility, he’s got power and he scores goals with both feet.

“Of course it’s his first time away from Newcastle and Geordies tend to be quite a tight nation so there’s no guarantee he’ll hit the ground running but we’re hopeful we can support him, make him feel at home and create those chances for him.”
