Mowbray - A Decent Game Of Football

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has described the 0-0 draw with Swindon Town as a decent game of football.

“It was a decent game of football,” Mowbray told the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole.

"We know they’re a good side on a good run and it panned out as we thought it would – a very tactical game.

“They’re a ball-retention team. They are playing well, moving the ball between the lines.

"We had to be wary of that because if you’re too aggressive against them they play through you and they’ve got talent up front – Ajose has scored 20 goals this season and Obika is a big, powerful boy, so if you leave yourself exposed you’re in big trouble.

“We needed to be right behind the ball and hope that on the transition the likes of Armstrong and Fortune could score the goal that would make the difference and let us nick the game.

“We couldn’t do that which was frustrating; it’s a home game and we want to win every home game if we can, especially on the back of a good away performance like we had last week.

“We had a few chances – a great one right at the end when their keeper saved from Darius Henderson.

"But we kept their concentration, saw off the threat of their talented individuals, so we’ll take the point and move on to the next one."
