Clinton Morrison is expected to sign a deal until the transfer window ends at the end of this month.

The striker came to City a free agent and featured in the friendlies against FC Brasov, Stade Nyonnais and for 70 minutes against Kilmarnock on Saturday.

Said Chris Coleman to the CT: "It is a strange one with Clinton but fingers crossed he is going to be with us for the next month and within that month we hope to do something with him. But I am pleased to say he is going to be with us for the start of the season."

"I was impressed with him because he hasn't played much football because of his injury, but when he came on he made an impact for us because he has got such a hunger to play football and score goals, and he is definitely the type of personality we want at Coventry.

"He has got a bit of a bad boy image, he's opinionated and says his piece, but he does that in an infectious way and is positive to have around the place. We want Clinton to stay at Coventry City and he knows that. He's not on trial with us because we know what he's capable of, and he wants to stay with us. It is just a matter of thrashing something out."

Meanwhile, talks with Stephen Wright who has been impressive during pre-season are continuing. The right back is also a free agent.
