Clinton Morrison has been talking to the Coventry Telegraph and has expressed his views on the sale of players and the attempts to bring in new faces.

Morrison told the CT, “The players have been down because they are two really good players (Fox and Dann) we have lost, but it has lifted a bit with Sammy Clingan coming in and I know the gaffer is trying to bring a few more players in. It will be nice to see a few more bodies in and around the place to give everyone a big lift."

The striker continued, “I have got belief in the manager. When I signed here last year he said he would be bringing players in and he did. He did that in January as well and I think he will do it this time as well. It has obviously dragged on a bit but I think a few more players will come in. It might not be everyone he is trying to get but definitely a few more will come in.”

Morrison admitted that the sale of Dann and Fox had damaged the players morale. He described the players as being frustrated and went on to predict  “very difficult season” unless signings were made soon.

Morrison explained he is confident that 'City manager Chris Coleman will bring in new players, some in the current transfer window and some in the January  transfer window.

Morrison's responded  to questions about fund being made available to Coleman by saying, “I hope so because when I signed here they gave me assurances that they would be signing players each transfer window. It doesn't look like that at this precise moment because they have only signed one and let two or three go but I have got faith in the owners and hopefully they will start spending some of the money they have got from Scotty Dann and Dan Fox. But it is in their hands and I don’t take care of that business."

He finished by saying, “Obviously it is frustrating for the players seeing players leaving and no-one come in. With the squad we have got now it will be a very difficult season and we know we need to add to it and hopefully the manager will get who he wants to get in.”

Morrison then went to to guarantee he would score more goals for 'City. told 'City fans,
“I am enjoying it because I never had a pre-season last year and hopefully this season I can go, bang, and get a great start. It took me a long time to get going last year, some 12 to 15 games before I scored a league goal."

“I know people appreciated the hard work I put in but as a striker you want the ball to hit the net. It won’t take me that long to get a goal this season, I can guarantee 150 per cent I am going to hit the back of the net early on. I know I will get more than 12 goals this year. We have been working on a few things and obviously we need to create a few more chances for the strikers and it is difficult because we haven’t got any wingers at the moment and the squad is a bit bare."

“But the gaffer is trying to bring people in and hopefully when he brings players in who can create chances for us I know I will score the goals. I have got self belief and confidence this year.”
