Coventry City today completed the signing of Clinton Morrison.

The striker formerly with Crystal Palace and Birmingham City was a free agent and has signed a two year deal.

Morrison will go straight into the squad for the opening Championship game of the season against Norwich City at the Ricoh Arena.

Chris Coleman said to the club website:"Obviously it's fantastic we've managed to get Clinton over the line. He's spent a lot of time training with us and we've made no secret of the fact we wanted him to join us. "He's a proven goalscorer in the Championship and another example of us trying to add quality to the squad."

Morrison was as equally pleased as Coleman saying to the club website: "I'm delighted to finally have got a deal done. Me and Leon McKenzie were strike partners at Palace and he's been calling me all the time telling me I should sign and I'm really pleased.

"I can score goals at this level and now I'm looking forward to doing that for Coventry so I'm hoping I can play some part against Norwich on Saturday."
